What is Xtream Code (Xtream API)?

Xtream Code, also called Xtream API, is a protocol used by many IPTV providers to distribute content in a structured way. Unlike M3U format which is a simple text file, Xtream Code works as an API (Application Programming Interface) that communicates directly between your IPTV player and the provider's server.

To connect via Xtream Code, you need three pieces of information:

  • Server URL: Your provider's server address (e.g., http://server.provider.com:8080)
  • Username: Your login
  • Password: Your password

This information is provided by your IPTV provider when you sign up.

Advantages of Xtream Code over M3U

  • Better organization: TV channels, movies, and series are automatically sorted into distinct categories.
  • Built-in EPG: The electronic program guide is often included natively.
  • Rich information: Synopses, posters, cast for movies and series.
  • Account management: The server can manage connections, authorized devices, etc.
  • Dynamic updates: Content is always synchronized with the server.
